Daisy
"I really wanted to de-stress more, be in the now, and connect on a deeper level with myself and others. Getting the creative flow back in my life."
Dennis
"I came to find a place where I could fully reflect without distractions and feel safe being myself. Nowadays, I find it hard to focus as my attention is constantly drawn to my phone and the things in it, scrolling through what’s going on in the rest of the world. So, it was nice to have a space where I could be with myself."
I.
"I wanted to focus on what brings me joy, without distractions or the pressure to use my time 'productively,' AND on connecting more intentionally with queer people around me. I love Queer Unplugged!"
Josje
"I wanted to be in a space to connect with other queer people and just do some crafting with others."
Julie
"Both ideas really resonated with me. Phone addiction is real, and my brain rarely gets a break from it, so this feels like a reset. Besides that, most queer events are mainly focused on parties and nightlife, so it's very refreshing to see a different kind of gathering, especially with the no phone rule!"
Oscar
"I joined because I wanted to connect with other people in a safe environment. I was also in the mood to relax and enjoy without social media or mobile phones."
Mirjam
"I really enjoyed the silence. I feel like my mind and soul need that more often. At the same time, it felt much easier with others doing the same around. It was fun capturing that atmosphere with my camera."
Lia
"I came here just because I'm curious about attending a queer daytime event :D"
N.
"It is so easy to check your phone constantly and try to be connected with everything and everyone, and that's why being unplugged is important. I also liked the idea of a queer event not centred around parties and drinking for introverts, yeah!"
Tatiana
"I came here because I'm super introverted and need to connect with people more and forget about my phone!"
